Next community trail day is Saturday May 23rd, 2009. We’ll meet at 9AM at the south end, walk the trail, get to know what’s there, get to meet who comes, do some clean-up tasks for as long as we like or can. First priorities will be trash and garlic mustard control (easy pulling). Sturdy shoes (not sandals) and taller socks are recommended. We’ll have some gloves if you need them.
Keep checking this page for future dates.
Or… for more information, mailto:info@ronanparktrail.com or call volunteer park steward Michael Herman at 312-280-7838. Hope to see you soon, and in the meantime, enjoy the Trail!

I’m in. I’ve loved this trail ever since I discovered it some years back. I was so impressed and happy to see it cleaned up and the path in. Now I know who to thanks. Didn’t even know about this group until I met Michael this year.
I’ve seen a wealth of native plants and various birds including woodpeckers – a childhood favorite. Some seedier stuff but not lately. Fortunately I am free Saturdays this season so hope to be there for work, comraderie, and education.

Sorry I couldn’t come out and help. I did walk the trail after the clean-up and appreciated the new mulch. I did not see any garlic mustard! I did see lots of columbine from the seeds that were sown. Thanks to whoever the volunteers were for your hard work, and of course thanks Michael!
