Trail Mulching Almost Complete

Five of us were out last Saturday morning (and into the afternoon) almost finishing the mulching of the trail. I also made a full pass looking for the last of the garlic mustard, pulling a few small plants along the way, and two big patches right down at river’s edge. Some of what I was finding was already done flowering and some had dropped seeds, too. Hope I found so little along most of the trail because it was not there, rather than because it had already flowered and seeded! Was pleasantly surprised to find not as much trash as I would normally expect. We’ll see what we find next weekend, after the holiday.

NEXT WORKDAY IS SATURDAY JUNE 5TH. We’ll meet at south trailhead, 2900 West Lawrence, and work 9am to Noon. Gloves and tools will be provided, or bring your own. We’ll be finishing the mulch and cleaning up trash and invasives, scouting out what else might need to be done next — and generally celebrating the successful completion of our spring chores. We’ll have t-shirts for all volunteers, as well.

Total volunteers: 4. Total toddlers: 1. Total volunteer hours: 17.

    Hi Michael,
Sorry I couldn’t make it Saturday. Wasn’t sure up to that point.

I am aiming for June 5 though. Have been a few times to see the plants changing.

Fun to be back. Looking forward to seeing it post-work day.

Thanks to you and all volunteers.
